Qatar helicopter crashes after ‘technical malfunction’: Ministry

Rescuers have been trying to find the crew and passengers of a Qatari army helicopter that crashed within the Gulf state’s waters after a “technical malfunction”, the federal government mentioned early Sunday (March 22, 2026)

“A Qatari helicopter had a technical malfunction throughout a routine responsibility, which led to its crash within the regional waters of the State,” Qatar’s Defence Ministry mentioned in a press release posted to X. “Looking operation for its crew members and passengers is in progress.”

The Inside Ministry mentioned that a number of specialised groups have been deployed. Qatar has not specified the place the helicopter was flying or the variety of individuals on board.

Whereas Qatar has been focused by a number of strikes because the begin of the West Asia struggle, no connection has been made between this chopper and the battle triggered by U.S.-Israeli assaults on Iran.
