The U.S. army on ‌Sunday (June 21, 2026) mentioned it struck a vessel ​within the Caribbean, ⁠killing two folks, alleging that the vessel was operated by “designated terrorist organisations” that ‌it didn’t establish.

The U.S. Southern Command ‌mentioned no U.S. army ‌forces ⁠had been harmed within the ⁠operation. It described these killed as “male narco-terrorists,” with out elaborating.

That is the newest such ​assault condemned ‌by rights teams as “extrajudicial killings” and which the Trump administration has mentioned are aimed ‌at “narco-terrorists.”

There have been six male ​survivors following the motion, the U.S. Southern Command mentioned, ⁠including that it had notified the U.S. Coast Guard for ‌the search and rescue of these survivors.

“Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting alongside identified narco-trafficking routes within the Caribbean and was engaged in ‌narco-trafficking operations,” the army mentioned ​in a submit on X.

Using the army ⁠to assault suspected drug vessels represents ⁠a stark departure from how the U.S. has ‌traditionally handled such vessels.
