Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Sunday (March 1, 2026) that avenging Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s killing ‘professional responsibility and proper’.
Mr. Pezeshkian stated that the killing of supreme chief Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in U.S. and Israeli strikes was a “declaration of conflict in opposition to Muslims”.

“The assassination of the best political authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran and a outstanding chief of Shiasm worldwide… is perceived as an open declaration of conflict in opposition to Muslims, and significantly in opposition to Shias, in every single place on this planet,” Mr. Pezeshkian stated in an announcement carried by state TV.
Mr. Pezeshkian stated that avenging the killing of supreme chief Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in U.S.-Israeli strikes was a proper and obligation of the Islamic republic.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran considers it its professional responsibility and proper to avenge the perpetrators and masterminds of this historic crime,” stated Mr. Pezeshkian in an announcement carried by state TV.
