French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday (March 14, 2026) stated Lebanon was prepared to interact in “direct talks” with Israel and provided to host negotiations in Paris.

“The Lebanese authorities has signalled its willingness to interact in direct talks with Israel,” he stated on X, including that “all sections of society have to be represented in these talks.”
“France is able to facilitate these talks by internet hosting them in Paris,” Mr. Macron stated, including he had spoken to the President and Prime Minister of Lebanon, a former French protectorate.
“Every part have to be performed to forestall Lebanon from descending into chaos,” Mr. Macron added.
“Hezbollah should instantly halt its reckless course. Israel should abandon plans for a large-scale offensive and stop its large air strikes.”
Lebanon was drawn into the West Asia warfare final week when Iran-backed Hezbollah attacked Israel in response to the killing of Iranian supreme chief Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in U.S.-Israeli strikes.
Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem stated on Friday (March 13, 2026) his group was prepared for a protracted confrontation with Israel.
