Russian Overseas Minister Sergei Lavrov blamed Ukraine for the capturing of a high-ranking Russian common in Moscow on Friday (February 6, 2026), accusing Kyiv of making an attempt to derail talks on the warfare between the neighbours.
In televised feedback, Lavrov accused Ukraine of being behind the “terrorist act”, saying Kyiv aimed to “disrupt the negotiation course of.” A deputy chief of Russian army intelligence was shot and injured on Friday (February 6, 2026), officers mentioned.
Lt. Gen. Vladimir Alekseyev was shot a number of time by an unidentified assailant in Moscow, Investigative Committee spokesperson Svetlana Petrenko mentioned in an announcement.
She mentioned that Mr. Alekseyev was hospitalised. Ms. Petrenko didn’t say who could possibly be behind the assault Mr. Alekseyev has served as the primary deputy head of Russia’s army intelligence since 2011.
