The Michigan State Police stated on Thursday (March 12, 2026) it was conscious of an energetic taking pictures incident on the Temple Israel Synagogue in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on X: “FBI personnel are on the scene with companions in Michigan and responding to the obvious automobile ramming and energetic shooter state of affairs out of Temple Israel Synagogue in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan.”
Police stated they responded after experiences of an “energetic shooter” on the synagogue outdoors Detroit. Aerial information footage from the scene confirmed plumes of smoke rising from the roof of the synagogue, with a number of police automobiles close by.
WDIV-TV reported {that a} truck crashed into the Temple Israel synagogue in West Bloomfield Township. Footage from the scene reveals dozens of police automobiles surrounding the constructing.
The Jewish Federation of Detroit suggested all Jewish organisations within the space “to enter lockout protocol — no one in or out of your constructing.”
