The leaders of Britain, France and Germany again Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s name for direct ceasefire talks between Russia and Ukraine, they stated on Sunday (June 7, 2026) after assembly with him in London.

The leaders “supported the proposal for a direct dialogue between Ukraine and Russia – with lively U.S. and European participation – to carry a few ceasefire and help additional negotiations,” they stated in a joint assertion with Mr. Zelenskyy.

“The present line of contact ought to be the place to begin for negotiations,” they added.

“Worldwide borders should not be modified by pressure.”

In an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, Mr. Zelenskyy proposed they maintain a face-to-face assembly.
